That Stamford is known as a place where all LGBTQIA+ people have the resources they need to thrive — and that they feel safe, seen, supported, celebrated, and uplifted.
Stamford Pride started the way the best things do: A small group of passionate people saw a need and decided to fill it.
In late 2019, we came together with a clear goal: Bring Stamford’s LGBTQIA+ community together through quality programming for all ages. Not just a parade once a year, but real, ongoing connection. Events that meant something. Spaces where everyone belongs.
What grew from that first gathering has become Stamford’s hub for LGBTQIA+ community life. We’ve partnered with the Ferguson Library on a groundbreaking History Project. We’ve trained Stamford businesses and school staff to be spaces where LGBTQIA+ community members can be their authentic selves. We’ve hosted book clubs, networking events, art exhibitions, book and author talks, community dinners, and more — most of them free.
We believe everyone has something unique to offer. And when people are able to put their strengths and abilities to work in places where they feel they belong, the world becomes a better place.
.

We mean everyone. Diversity of identity, background, experience, and thought makes us stronger — and more honest about what it means to serve our whole community.
We show up for each other. Not just at events, but across generations, across identities, across experience levels.
We believe in programming that informs, challenges, and uplifts — and in language that reflects our commitment to seeing and naming people correctly.
The stories of LGBTQIA+ people who lived, worked, and played in Stamford belong to all of us. We’re making sure their stories are heard and not forgotten.
We keep most of our events and programs free. Community-building opportunities shouldn’t have a price tag. And we strive to offer a wide array of programs in diverse locations to meet the needs of all folx in Stamford.
